Gaelic sports, and the culture of community-based volunteerism that it’s based on, is a way of life for many people in Trillick. Trillick won its first senior football championship in 1937 and won the senior football league in 1937, 1938 and 1939. 37 more years were to go by before Trillick won the championship again, in 1974. Effectively the same nucleus of players won the championship again in 1974, 1975,1980, 1983 and 1986 before losing the final replay in 1987. In that period, Trillick also won senior football league titles in 1973, 1977, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1987. In 2008, Trillick won the division 2 (intermediate) county final, and also gained promotion back to senior (division 1) football for 2009 and then topped off a successful year by winning the Ulster Club title.
